Little Princess “A” ♥

August 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Once upon a time, in a land not-so-far-away,  there lived a very beautiful little princess.  I’ll call her Princess “A”.  She loved to dance and romp  outside the royal castle  wearing her most favourite  pretty  ballerina outfits and sunny summer dresses.

Princess A was very happy, gentle and kind.  She loved to sing la la la la la all day long in the sunshine.  She loved to play peek a boo,  and “He loves me, He loves me not”  in the royal gardens.  Flowers were, after all, her most treasured possessions!   Her mommy and daddy loved her very much and watched in amazement  as their sweet little princess grew preciously  before their very eyes!

…..And they all lived happily ever after ♥

Thank you Princess A for spending the afternoon with me!  I am truly honoured!

This is what fairy tales are made of.

♥♥♥ Princess Genevieve ♥♥♥

“Princess Genevieve of Ravenscourt”.
Loyal companion, selfless-giver, smile-maker, joy-bringer, light-shiner, teacher.
RIP my darling Gen. We love you bigger than the moon.
♥♥♥♥♥

It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I write this post.  I feel compelled to share this story with the world, and working with the hundreds of photos of  our Genny somehow gives me comfort.

On Sunday, April  19, 2009,  my family and I had to say good-bye to our sweet, sweet, loving, loyal constant companion, Genevieve.  Genny came into our lives  9 1/2 years ago and became the 6th member of our family.  She was the most adorable little Sheltie pup I had ever seen!  So full of love and bounding energy!  Genny had just celebrated  her 10th birthday on April 4th, complete with special treats and a tiara.

We were  blessed to have her as part of our family.  She taught us more than most people could ever teach.

Genny taught my 3 children what unconditional love is all about. My children, Katie, Kevin and Laura grew up with Gen.   She taught them how to laugh at themselves, to treasure the ones you love, to just be YOU,  and that it’s OK to be a little bit wacky sometimes!  She taught all of us that all you really need is love,  food, a warm place to sleep, and a friendly person to make life complete.  She taught us that even though life is hard at times, you gotta just live for the day.

Genny loved walks, treats, toys, cuddles, swimming, chasing wheels of any kind – skateboards, roller blades, bikes, and  motor cycles.  She was passionate about one day actually being able to “catch” thunder, her reflection in the back door; fireplace glass, oven door,  and up in the  skylights.  She was convinced that she could touch the sky and herd the small airplanes that flew over our backyard at night.  And she loved to sing!  She could howl in tune with the firetrucks.  Usually she just howled when she was lonely.  Living behind a school, she was well-known to all the students, who loved to pet her and run the fence with her at recess.  When they went inside, she howled for them to come back and play.

Genny had many friends that she adored.  Our b/w cat Oreo was her little soulmate.  She and Oreo would play “cat and mouse” for hours – Genny was nominated to be  the “mouse”.  They loved to chase each other and Oreo would wait patiently as Genny ran by her in “turbo” mode, then pounce on her face or back.  Oh the fun they had!  She will be sadly missed.  Genny also was best friend to Bella, Katie’s cuddly hamster;  Lily, Laura’s sweet gerbil;  and Juanita, Katie’s beautiful budgie, all who also passed away very recently. She also loved our 2 angel guinea pigs, Sequins and Zoomer for 7 years.  They were perfect for washing and herding! Genny also enjoyed 8 years with our loving angel cat, Tabitha.   Gen simply adored all living creatures.

Genny enjoyed being walked by our wonderful friend Arlene and her sweet Riley.  She knew whenever they showed up at our doorstep, something good was about to begin.  They have been there whenever we have needed them, always willing to “babysit” our little menagerie of pets.  Thank you Arlene and family for your never-ending generosity and support.

Our  heartfelt gratitude goes out to  Dr. House and Brack Animal Hospital, for your outstanding care, compassion and kindness.  We won’t ever forget it.

As a pup, Genny quickly bonded to her “cousin” Maggie, also a Sheltie.  They spent hours and hours running, chasing, attacking and exhausting each other.  It usually took about 6 hours before they slowed down!  Sadly, Maggie passed away 1 day before Genevieve.   I know they are now reunited and playing happily along with our other sweet angel pets.

Everyone who  was lucky enough to meet  Genny instantly fell in love.  And we were the lucky family who was blessed to have such an amazing, gentle, loving furbaby in our lives.  I know that my darling Tante Di, who passed away on April 4, 2009,  is taking care of  our Genny in Heaven – she simply loved Gen, and Genny loved her.  I know Genny is  gracefully resting at her feet.

Thank you my darling,  sweet little Genevieve.  We have been truly blessed.

♥ These are a few of my favourite things…

February 27, 2009 · 2 Comments

Well  this week one of my dreams came true!  I upgraded my  camera!  The 5D classic has been world renowned for it’s consistent, excellent quality, sharp-shootin’ abilities and I have always dreamed  of  owning  one.  I was able to find one that was  babied, well cared for and  now I’m the proud owner!  (Thanks Tobi!)

It is amazing and is sure to make my passion that much more exciting! I absolutely LOVE full-frame shooting!   I have been testing it out all week long and these are some of my first shots:  This is Riley, Oreo and my beautiful daughter.

Also, I thought I’d do a “family” shoot of my family of Canon cameras!

My 3 kids each own one and we all LOVE our Canons!  Aren’t they adorable?  lol

Have a wonderful week!  Come on MARCH!!!  *think spring, think spring, think spring!*

Baby: “Bewildering Ability to Bewitch You”

January 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I met the most beautiful bundle of baby love today!  Little M is the sweetest baby girl!  She has the most gorgeous chocolate chip eyes and rosebud mouth! She is such a happy, gentle little angel, from the tip of her tiara to the toes of her tiny Uggs!    It was a pleasure to work with Mom and Dad – thank you for the kind welcome.

Today was all about Daisies and Balloons!  M is going to be 1 very soon and we wanted to celebrate!  She absolutely loved playing “loves me, loves me not….” with the daisy and squealed with delight when the balloons were within reach!  I had such an enjoyable afternoon.  It’s days like this that I return home, upload my photos and think to myself, “Yes, I truly am following my Bliss!”  This, my friends, is true bliss.

Three Cute Cousins!

January 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

It was a beautiful, sunny winter afternoon.  I had the pleasure of photographing three of the most beautiful girls I know.

Ok, maybe I am a bit biased, since two  are my daughters and one is my niece, but I’m sure you’ll agree, they are indeed gorgeous!  I did a little cross processing on some of them,  adding a bit of  spice!  Thanks girls, you are all amazing!

Peace, Joy, and Love

December 23, 2008 · 2 Comments

Good Morning!

I met the most amazing little boys yesterday afternoon!  I will affectionately call  them “Peace”,  -  the eldest little sweetie, calm and wise beyond his years,  “Joy” -  all 3 year old, full of bounding energy, and “Love”, -  the newest tiny little bundle.

What a beautiful, kind family!  Mom and Dad are so fun and welcoming.  I instantly felt at home when I entered their beautiful place.

It was quite poignant for me.  Earlier in the day as I waited for my daughter as she wrote her exam,  I glanced up and there was a poster, “Do what You Love!”.  And here I was, doing just that :)

Thank you for allowing me to capture some pretty precious moments in your busy day! I have many, many more shots that will be in your gallery very soon!   What a wonderful way to start the holidays!

Happy Holidays Everyone!  Hope they are filled with Peace, Joy and Love!

Hugs

Angie

Doggie Dreams…and please vote to help Humane Society win $10,000.00

December 18, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hi everyone,

Here are this week’s  wonderful dogs  for the Pet of the Week.  I raced in and beat the bad freezing rain weather just in time to get some shots outdoors :)   Thank you Brooke and Laura for your assistance!

It was my pleasure  to meet these two wonderful dogs, Mia and Sparky.

Mia has a heart as big has her.  She is a Rotti-Boxer mix and very meek and gentle.  She is an amazing model and we rapped it up in about 5 minutes flat!  It’s tough to choose the best shot, since she was very happy to give me lots!

Next up is Sparky, a black lab.  Sparky is full of energy and absolutely LOVES people! He was much more interested in the passerbys than me and my silly old camera!  It was definitely a fun shoot and I hope that these two sweeties get their Christmas wish and that their doggie dreams come true….could it be YOU?

Please take a second to vote for the Windsor-Essex Humane Society-they could win lots of much needed money!!!

150x200-cat

I hope you are all well and getting ready to celebrate the holidays, whatever they may be :)

Sugar and Spice and everything Nice!

With every new shoot and new client, I am always reminded how very blessed I am.  To be able to do what I love and meet moms (and dads) and children such as this, I am indeed very blessed!  Yes  sometimes it requires a bit of creativity and mom know-how, but wow, I am loving every minute of it! Thanks mom, for welcoming me into your  home today!

“Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails?”… Well this little boy was pure delight!  I had the pleasure of spending a wonderful, glorious, unseasonably warm afternoon with a fantastic family.   Little J is such a sweet bundle of boy energy.  It was such fun running around with him and looking for snakes, fish and whatever other creatures we could think of!  He has the most incredible chocolate chip eyes!  And unbelievably long eyelashes!  And the expressions!  Oh my!!!

Thanks Mom and Dad for welcoming me into your home.  It was truly a joy to spend time with you!

Here is just a small sneak preview of your proofs.

Wind, Woods, Wonderful!

A very close friend of mine recently told me, “I am so happy for you Ang!  You are following your BLISS!”

And it hit me ….. yes, I truly am following my bliss!  To be able to meet such kind, sweet families such as the R Family, and enjoy their happy times and adorable grandchildren.  And to capture moments such as these…..Sheer Bliss!

It was such a beautiful afternoon for a walk in the woods and I had so much fun!  Thank you to each of you for your genuine kindness.  And for helping me to follow my bliss!

Here are just a few shots I captured on our walk:
